Terms & Conditions: Primal Trail Bushcraft (2026)
Disclaimer: Primal Trail Bushcraft is dedicated to providing safe and enjoyable courses. The nature of the activities we provide and the locations we use means that a level of residual risk may be present despite all efforts made to reduce it, and all participants are reminded that a risk of injury or death may always be present. Participants in activities and parents or legal guardians should be aware of and accept these risks as part of the course and be responsible for their own involvement. Under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian unless by written agreement.
By booking onto a Primal Trail Bushcraft activity or course, you are declaring that:

1. Payments –
Payment for our services can be made via the website (or BACS transfer; details available on request). We do not accept cheques.
1.1 Bookings require full payment upfront.
1.2 Invoices are available by email if required, and a receipt of payment will be provided.
1.3 Bookings are only confirmed once payment and booking forms have been received and we have contacted you with a confirmation of receipt.
1.4 Upon payment, all course members agree to be bound by these terms and conditions in their entirety.
2. Cancelled by Client–
We believe we are entitled to fair notice of cancellation, as we may have turned down other participants for your booking slot.
2.1 Cancellations must be notified to us by email.
2.2 Cancellations or postponements incur the following fees:
14 days to 48 hours from event start date: 50% refund.
48 hours or less in advance of course start time: No refund.
2.3 Postponements will be treated as a cancellation unless by written agreement from us.
3. Cancelled by Us –
A cancellation is always the absolute last resort. Prevailing weather or ‘acts of God’ may force us to cancel with little notice.
3.1 If weather makes a specific activity unsafe, we will offer an alternative date or a full refund.
3.2 If an alternative date is not possible for a cancellation on our part, all advanced payments will be returned in full.
3.3 In the event of a cancellation enforced by means beyond our control (e.g., war, mass disease, breakdown in social structure, or government orders), we will seek an alternative date or issue a 12-month gift voucher.
4. Cancellations During Course –
4.1 We reserve the right to cancel a course on the spot if we are not satisfied that we can keep members or staff safe due to the actions of participants.
4.2 All members must adhere to safety requirements without exception.
4.3 We will stop the course if we suspect any member is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
4.4 There are no refunds if a course is stopped for safety violations.
5. Force Majeure –
5.1 A Force Majeure Event includes any accident beyond our reasonable control, including: (a) industrial action; (b) civil commotion, riot, or terrorist attack; (c) acts of God (fire, storm, flood, etc.); (d) utility failure; (e) malicious damage; (f) government compliance; (g) transportation failure; or (h) default of suppliers .
5.2 We are not liable for delays or failures to perform obligations resulting from a Force Majeure Event.
5.3 If such an event prevents a course, the leader may seek alternative means to meet objectives or cancel the event immediately.
6. Miscellaneous –
6.1 All clients must complete relevant booking forms.
6.2 Non-disclosure of medical conditions or injuries may put you at risk; we accept no responsibility for emergencies arising from non-disclosure.
6.3 Participants must provide their own transport to and from venues.
6.3a Clients are responsible for any medical or rescue fees incurred; Primal Trail Bushcraft will not cover emergency service fees.
6.4 All safety equipment is provided unless stated otherwise.
6.5 Deliberate damage to equipment, or damage caused by reckless disregard for instructor guidance, will be charged at the replacement value.
6.6 Gift Vouchers: (a) Non-transferable and non-refundable outside the 14-day return period; (b) Cannot be used to buy further vouchers; (c) Free gifts must be returned before a voucher refund is issued .
7. Data –
7.1 Data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We only collect medical and emergency contact data to ensure participant safety in remote environments.
7.2 You may opt out of special offer communications at any time.
7.3 Booking Forms are retained for a minimum of 7 years.
8. Risk & Liability
8.1 We do everything in our power to keep groups from harm, but outdoor activities involve inherent risks that cannot be eliminated .
8.2 Liability for any loss, damage, injury, or death is limited to the extent permitted by law. Primal Trail Bushcraft does not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our gross negligence, but we shall not be liable for incidents arising from inherent outdoor risks or the participant’s failure to follow safety instructions.
8.3 Participants must follow the instructor’s judgment at all times; failure to do so absolves us of liability for resulting injury or loss.
8.4 By booking, clients accept that the activity involves personal risk.
8.5 We are not liable for loss or damage to personal belongings; participants are advised to take out personal accident and equipment insurance.
No variation of these terms is accepted unless agreed in writing by Gary (Gazza) Butcher.
