OVERVIEW
A full Day with Fire.
Our collective connection to Fire goes back at least 2 million years, and in that time the ways we have lit, tended, utilised, loved and worshipped this oldest of elemental forces has always defined us as humans.
For my part, as an ex-firefighter, developing and practicing the art of fire in it’s many forms has taken me full-circle.
Come and join me in an exploration of who we are and rediscover our oldest ally.

Delve deep into the art of fire lighting, tending and its many uses.
We will explore many ways to kindle a flame, some modern, some ancient. Expect sparks, friction and even a sun-ray or two if we are lucky!

We aim to teach you to develop a dependable skillset so you can reliably and safely build, light, use and tend down your fire.
​
We will refine our use of various fire lays and configurations along with the gear that goes with it to create hearth and home.

DETAILS
Things we aim to cover:​
- Tree I.D. , material selection and sustainable harvesting;
- Tinder, kindling and lump wood selection and processing;
- Tool use and safety;
- Fire building and tending down;
- Fire safety;
- Modern fire lighting techniques;
- Adapting fire set up to purpose;
- Intriduction to Cooking food Water processing techniques;
- ​How to dry out yourself and your kit. Get warm and stay warm.
- Fire in wet weather.​
- Demonstration of friction firelighting to finish.

CONDITIONS
Suitable for adults and accompanied 13+ teens.​
Cost for the day is £100 per adult and £80 per teen.
​( 13+ teens must be accompanied by a paying adult ).
​
The day runs from 0900 to 1600 to give us plenty of time round the fire.
​
Groups are limited to 10 to ensure you have my fullest attention.
​
There will be a variety of foods cooked on the fire, make sure you express any allergy concerns at booking so we can include you fully.
